Getting your newborn to sleep through the night is one of the most challenging issues new parents must tackle. Faced with well-meaning advice and societal expectations, parents may feel pressured to master infant sleep within an unrealistic time frame. As a result, many parents find infant sleep to be both physically challenging and emotionally overwhelming.
Sleep Like A Baby is a comprehensive, award-winning educational DVD that helps educate parents about infant sleep. In addition to wanting their baby to be a “good sleeper,” parents also worry about what method is best. By providing a thorough and objective overview of the topic, debunking existing myths and helping parents set realistic expectations for themselves and their babies, this program enables parents to make the right choice for their families. The DVD objectively explores two of the most widely practiced sleep methods, co-sleeping and sleep training, and presents them without bias or judgment.
Sleep Like A Baby includes testimonials from a diverse group of parents a variety of settings. Also featured on the DVD are sleep experts Ronald Dahl, M.D., Director of the Child and Adolescent Sleep and Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh, Miriam Labbok, M.D., Professor at the Department of Maternal & Child Health, University of North Carolina, Jodi Mindell, Professor of Psychology at St. Joseph’s University and author of Sleeping Through the Night: How Infants, Toddlers, and Their Parents Can Get a Good Night’s Sleep, James McKenna, Director of the Mother/Baby Sleep Lab at the University of Notre Dame and author of Sleeping With Your Baby: A Parents Guide to Co-Sleeping.

This husband and wife team were inspired to create Sleep Like A Baby after the birth of their first child during which time they suffered from sleep deprivation. After realizing how many other parents were in the same situation, with no comprehensive video resources available that addressed the issue of infant sleep, they took matters into their own hands, and Sleep Like A Baby was born. This DVD is an updated of the first version of the original program, which has won Parent’s Choice and Kid’s First! Awards. It now includes new interviews with additional sleep experts and healthcare professionals, and information on the latest sleep safety guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
